Fraser island-Rainbow beach

Prawns and salads for lunch

Fraser island 'highway', speed limit signs and cop patrols included. We travelled 50 km at least on the beach, much smoother than the tracks inland where the 4wd bus nearly shook us to bits. What an experience.

Afternoon tea at Rainbow cliffs, made totally from sand coloured by ancient water courses-the island is the largest sand island in the world.

Wild dingoes live there. One came to investigate on the beach.

The water is perfectly clear because it's been filtered so much by the sand. And no rocks nor differences in heights means you can't hear the creeks either. Peculiar, but beautiful rainforest biosphere with huge tree ferns 20 mtrs tall, kauri, satinay and giant gums among others.
